Must possess at least an Interim secret or final secret clearance with eligibility for SECRET-level classified access. This is a remote opportunity.

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior System Administrator to join our team supporting mission-critical legacy systems for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
This is an expert-level position where you will be the primary technical authority for ensuring the high-availability, performance, and robust cybersecurity compliance of legacy contracting and financial management applications. You will operate within complex virtual hosting environments (Stratus and HaC) and lead all efforts related to system patching, architecture, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) adherence.

Key Responsibilities:
Expert System Administration & Reliability
- Provide expert, hands-on Windows Server administration support, primarily focusing on Windows Server 2022 (or higher) instances.
- Serve as Tier 2/Tier 3 escalation support and a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for critical operational issues, providing prompt resolution during and outside of normal duty hours.
- Lead the rigorous patching lifecycle, including conducting advanced testing of Windows, Java, Oracle Applications, and security patches in staging environments before coordinating Application Service Interruptions (ASI) for production deployment.
- Manage the configuration and maintenance of Oracle and SQL databases within the Windows environment to support legacy applications.
- Proactively analyze complex log files to diagnose and resolve system and security-related errors, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Drive server application component upgrades to maintain compliance with DoD regulations and vendor baseline requirements.
Cybersecurity and Compliance:
- Support RMF compliance effortsby meticulously preparing, managing, and maintaining required system documentation and supporting materials for system audits.
- Expertly apply and enforce DISA Application Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across all managed systems.
- Design and implement robust secure configurations using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and Transport Layer Security (TLS), including expert handling of website certificates.
- Validate and actively improve the security posture by analyzing findings from Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Host Based Security System (HBSS) reports and logs.
- Adhere strictly to CYBERCOM IAVAs, ensuring all required patches are applied and diligently maintaining the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
- Participate in Change Configuration Boards (CCB) to review and approve proposed system changes before application.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all system administration and application support activities.
- Generate and submit a comprehensive monthly Cybersecurity Report covering patch schedules, accreditation status, POA&M status, IAVA compliance, and DISA Task Order adherence.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar senior-level role.
Security Clearance:
- Must possess at least an INTERIM-SECRET or final SECRET clearance with eligibility for SECRET-level classified access.
Certification:
- Must possess a current Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification).
Technical Expertise:
- Extensive experience with Windows Server administration, database management (Oracle/SQL), network concepts (LAN/WAN), and comprehensive patch management workflows.
