Mount Indie is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to help shape the future of unmanned systems. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
- Designs and inspects aerospace and defense wiring harnesses and connectors
- Works with oscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators. and spectrum analyzers
- Performs non-routine engineering duties as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.*
- Applies knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to solve basic problems
- Participates on multidisciplinary teams
- Assists in the identification, formulation, and solutions to engineering problems
- Uses techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools to achieve desired outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3-6 years related experience
- Proficiency in embedded systems design and integration
- Experience with aerospace/defense wiring harnesses, connectors, and system integration
- Strong knowledge of test equipment: oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and develop wiring harnesses and integration plans
- Willing and able to obtain a Secret clearance within 6 months of hire date; US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with RTOS or bare-metal firmware development
- Knowledge of GNSS, IMU, and sensor fusion techniques as applied in UAS navigation
- Background in video streaming, compression, or camera triggering for aerial imaging
- Familiarity with UAS regulatory compliance, EMI/EMC considerations, and environmental testing
- Experience with system-level integration of electronics into airframes (multirotor or fixed-wing)
- Demonstrated success in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system-in-the-loop (SIL) testing environments
- Working knowledge of RF systems, antennas, or data links used in UAS communication
- Direct experience designing power systems
- Ability to understand the enclosure design process
- Direct experience with embedded processors, and working with software teams
- Direct knowledge of printed circuit board layout standards
- Direct knowledge of board design software like Altium, Orcad, or equivalent
