JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Translate documents to English from typical USCENTOM regional languages to include Arabic, Hebrew, Pashtun, Dari, Kurdish, and Turkish.
• Documents requiring translation are classified UNCLASSIFIED and are provided in Microsoft Word or Adobe format.
• Contractor will only translate required information within the document and provide any cultural context relevant to interpreting these translations for the purpose of mitigating vendor threats. Documents include, but are not limited to:
◦ Articles of Association (or country equivalent)
◦ Country Business license/work permits (or country equivalent)
◦ Country Identification documents
◦ Tax Identification certificates (or country equivalent)
◦ Banking Information
◦ Other information about the vendor, vendor employees, and vendor subcontractors
• The translated document shall be submitted to the USG as completed, but no later than three (3) business days after assignment for routine documents. Any documents with errors or quality issues identified by the USG shall be corrected and resubmitted within two (2) business days after notification from the USG. The contractor may submit a request for additional time to the COR based on the difficulty of the translation or current volume of pages. Each request will be considered, approved and/or rejected on a case-by-case basis by the COR. Translated documents shall be submitted as completed and not stockpiled. Translated documents shall also be included in the CAR packet per current procedures.
• Maintain an accurate database or spreadsheet to track translation document completion metrics by language and time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Able to fluently read, write and understand English and the language requiring translation at a high- school level equivalent or above.
• Certified by a competent and accredited independent, state, or federal language translation certification authority and will have a 3+ (or higher) Reading, Speaking, Listening, and Writing proficiency according to the Interagency Language Roundtable rating system.
• Required languages are Arabic, Hebrew, Pashtun, Dari, Kurdish, Turkish, and English.
