The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
SPA's NATO Allied Command Transformation Group, within JOID, provides capability development, portfolio management, program management, quality management, cost estimation analysis, standardization, reporting, software solutions and information management, and capability management support. We also provide an improved capability requirements capture process, including the generation, documentation and tracing of user requirements, with appropriate technical scrutiny, over the entire lifecycle of the requirements from capability definition through capability realization and capability usage.
We have an immediate need for a Space Domain SME to provide onsite support out of the NATO Allied Command Transformation HQ in Norfolk, VA to enhance NATO's Strategic Space Posture.
Responsibilities
The Space Domain SME will support the deliverables to help NATO deliver its strategy on improving Strategic Space Posture. The candidate will work within HQ SACT Strategic Plans and Policy along with HQ SACT Space Branch to help deliver the plan, management, and implementation of future Space Capabilities. This will include coordinating and monitoring the Space Threat Operational Response Initiative . The role will support and contribute to the activities of the Commercial Integration of Space capabilities for NATO . The candidate will s upport the creation and analysis of Space Threat Assessment and Scenario Development. The successful candidate will be adept at coordinating and facilitating Space requirements development and management consulting services. Apply expertise in operational planning, force development, strategic policy, and command and control; apply experience with multi-domain integration, space effects planning, space deterrence, and defense policy alignment. The Space effort may be in link with European NATO entities, engagements with EU, as well as the ACO Space entities and Nations.

Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in science or management (5 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of the degree)
- Experience in Space Domain Operational Planning, Exercise, or Commercial Integration
- Demonstrate 3 years in the last 10 with experience in briefing senior leaders/decision makers
- Demonstrate 3 years of operational knowledge of Space efforts as a military officer or as a civilian
- Understanding of the NATO Organization
- Citizen of a NATO Nation with valid National Secret Clearance
- Valid National Passport from a NATO Nation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to work fully onsite based on client need
