About The Role
Peraton is looking for a Software Deployment Engineer to support Intelligence Community and DoD customers as part of a talented, high-performing team. As part of this team you will work with emerging service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness (SSA) data processing and distribution.
The Skyfire program, a next gen Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, establishes a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), finds RSOs of interest, and provides data to ground operators. The Skyfire team uses: programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system.
The selected candidate will design, implement, and maintain automated deployment processes for enterprise software systems. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, repeatable deployments across environments, integrating release automation tools, and resolving issues during build and deployment cycles. The candidate will collaborate closely with development and systems teams to streamline software delivery and maintain deployment quality.

Details
Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Job Duties include:
- Develop and maintain automated software build and deployment pipelines
- Create and update Jenkins-based Groovy scripts to support release automation
- Write and maintain AWS CloudFormation templates to manage environment configurations
- Troubleshoot deployment and pipeline issues across Jenkins and AWS environments (Linux EC2, RDS, CloudFormation, ElasticSearch, etc.)
- Document deployment procedures and key configuration steps for developer and operations use
- Develop and maintain scripts to improve deployment processes (e.g., staging/unstaging builds, branch tagging automation, cross-network synchronization)
- Integrate new applications and microservices into existing deployment workflows
- Support automated installation and configuration of COTS and third-party software components
- Diagnose and resolve deployment and integration issues, including connectivity or configuration problems between components (e.g., API servers and databases)
- Develop and enhance monitoring scripts to verify the health of AWS-hosted services and deployed applications
- Integrate and support deployment-related tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Jenkins, Robot Framework/Selenium, and Artifactory
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth and consistent release transitions across environments
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree with Eight (8+) years of relevant experience; OR Masters degree with six (6+) years of relevant experience. Four (4) additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree.
- This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request- contract requires TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification, or be working towards obtaining it.
- Experience with Linux Environments
- Experience with scripting languages, such as Bash and Python
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Git for Source Control
- Understanding and willingness to work in a DevSecOps oriented environment with an Infrastructure as Code mindset
- Basic understanding of an Object-Oriented Programming Language, preferably Java or Python
- Experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cloud-based software solutions
- Experience integrating Jenkins and Docker for automated CI/CD pipelines
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes
- Familiarity with IC Audit requirements and Splunk
- Experience providing technical support to the system accreditation process
