Duties
Help
  • Review and analyze organization's Operation Plan (OPLAN) for changes and requirements which impact the organization's mission accomplishment.
  • Maintain liaison with a wide range of organizations to support customers' requirements for intermodal transportation and distribution services.
  • Revise and provide guidance for developing the Mobilization Tables of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) for organization's transportation activities.
  • Acquire, develop, and maintain current information and data on all trends and events which may influence transportation planning and procedures.
  • Prepare implementing plans and directives and brief organizational and higher-level command staffs.
  • Review theater and component commands' transportation plans and make recommendations for modification when appropriate.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.Facilitating strategic mobility planning by delivering Reception, Staging, Onward-Movement, and Integration expertise ensuring effective communication to senior leaders; 2. Developing strategic deployment policies and procedures that govern force and cargo movement to secure transportation; 3. Develop and revise emergency and contingency plans for U.S. forces through deliberate planning processes to ensuring preparedness for a range of operational scenarios; and 4. Advise leaders on potential problem areas related to plans and/or capabilities by proactively providing viable solutions to enhance mission effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
