Job Description

As a Security Officer - Logistics Gate Access in Northampton, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming atmosphere at a busy logistics and distribution location. Your role involves monitoring entrances and exits, conducting routine patrols, and providing excellent customer service while utilizing access control technology. You will serve as a visible presence to support a secure environment for employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Control access to the logistics and distribution location by verifying credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and loading areas to help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and/or other security-related incidents.
• Assist with security-related procedures such as visitor registration and contractor check-in, following site-specific policies.
• Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by responding to questions and offering guidance as needed.
• Respond in a calm, problem-solving manner to incidents and/or critical situations that may arise within the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises, including business and perimeter areas, to help to deter security-related risks.
• Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or any irregularities observed during the shift.
• Collaborate with logistics and distribution staff to support site operations while upholding Allied Universal standards and client policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
