As a Security Officer - Commercial Front Desk in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more.
As a Front Desk professional in a commercial real estate location, you will be the first point of contact for all visitors, helping to create a welcoming environment while supporting security-related protocols. Your role involves monitoring access, assisting with badge procedures, utilizing computer or tablet systems, and delivering excellent customer service. What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and tenants by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies while stationed at the front desk.
- Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises.
- Respond to incidents and/or critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Communicate and collaborate with property management and/or building staff regarding security-related matters and visitor management.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and visitor logs as required by site-specific procedures.
- Assist with emergency response activities from the front desk, following Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
- Support efforts to help deter unauthorized activity in the lobby and main entrance area through professional presence and customer service.

- Availability across various days and shifts
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in customer service is preferred.
- Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
