Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Education: High School Diploma or Associate Degree from an accredited institution, including 12 semester hours in health sciences, nursing, behavioral health, or related fields
- Experience: At least 1 year of direct patient care experience assisting physicians or clinical staff in a rehabilitation or treatment program setting
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS (through the American Heart Association)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care and support in a rehabilitation setting for patients recovering from substance use or mental health challenges
- Observe and document patient symptoms, behaviors, and reactions to treatment
- Assist in individual, group, and behavior therapy sessions
- Conduct patient rounds every 2 hours to ensure safety and engagement
- Support patient intake, orientation, and discharge processes
- Escort patients safely throughout the facility and promote structured, therapeutic activities
- Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain a safe, positive, and recovery-focused environment
- Adhere to infection control standards and universal precautions in all procedures
- Occasionally assist at the Bonham Domiciliary front desk, greeting patients and supporting administrative needs
Why You'll Love This Role
- Full-time, 40 hours per week | Some weekends required
- VA Business Hours: Health Aides are required to work 40 hours per week, including a variety of shifts from Sunday through Thursday and Tuesday through Saturday. The Sunday through Thursday shift runs from 11:30 pm to 8:00 am. The Tuesday through Saturday shifts are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. Shifts and locations may change
