Amentum is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Travel Specialist in Washington, DC. This position will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of invitational travelers on behalf of the organization, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and cost-effective travel experience. This role oversees travel logistics from planning to expense reconciliation while maintaining compliance with organization travel policies. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service to support travelers and optimize travel operations across the agency.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and book domestic and international travel, including flights, hotels, and ground transportation.
- Ensure all travel arrangements comply with organizational travel policies, budgets, and approval processes (e.g., federal travel regulations).
- Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding travel needs, questions, and troubleshooting during travel.
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with travel vendors, agencies, and service providers to secure competitive rates and quality service.
- Prepare and process travel authorizations, vouchers and related documents.
- Verify accuracy of travel requests, ensuring proper approvals and funding allocations are in place.
- Advise travelers on applicable travel policies, procedures, and allowable expenses.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure timely reimbursements and accurate cost allocation.
- Stay up to date on travel regulations and ensure adherence to all compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce travel costs, and enhance travel experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality, travel management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 7-11 years of experience in corporate travel coordination, travel agency operations, or a similar administrative/travel management role.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of travel booking tools and travel platforms (e.g., E2, UFMS).
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international travel requirements, including visas and documentation. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Compensation and Benefits
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
