Work You'll Do
  • Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM, EDR, NDR, firewalls, and other monitoring systems.
  • Triage, investigate, and validate incidents, assessing their severity and potential business impact.
  • Analyze suspicious activities and behaviors using log data, forensic tools, and threat intelligence.
  • Lead incident response efforts for escalated or complex cases, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Document and communicate incidents, providing clear and concise updates to stakeholders.
  • Support and guide junior analysts during ongoing investigations and incident responses.
  • Tweak and optimize detection rules and use cases in SIEM and EDR platforms to improve detection quality and reduce false positives.
  • Proactively hunt for threats using advanced queries and threat intelligence feeds.
  • Research new attack vectors and adversary techniques to inform detection strategies.
  • Create and refine security monitoring playbooks, workflows, and procedures.
  • Document investigation steps and lessons learned, contributing to SOC knowledge base.
  • Perform periodic SOC process/procedure health checks and recommend improvements.
  • Mentor junior SOC analysts, providing training, guidance, and technical expertise.
  • Act as a primary escalation point for complex incidents and alerts.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and risk teams.

Our Cyber Defense & Resilience offering assists clients in defending against advanced threats by transforming security operations, monitoring technology, data analytics, and threat intelligence. Helps manage and protect dynamic attack surfaces and provides rapid crisis and cyber incident response, ensuring clients can be ready for, respond to, and recover from business disruptions.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Active DOD Top Secret clearance required.
  • Must be able to work full time on-site.
  • Travel up to 15%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • 6+ years of experience in an enterprise SOC environment.
  • Deep familiarity with SIEM, EDR, and other security platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of network and host-based security fundamentals.
  • Ability to conduct log analysis, packet analysis, and basic digital forensics.
  • Must have one industry or relevant vendor certification such as CSA, GCIH or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • DOE Q Clearance

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $119,025.00- $198,375.00.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
