Boeing is seeking a Materials Process and Physics (MP&P) Engineer to join our team in the greater St. Louis area in Berkeley, Missouri. This person will be responsible for the failure analysis and material evaluation of mechanical components, including metallic and non-metallic materials (e.g. ceramics, composites, plastics, glass). They will collaborate closely with engineers across the enterprise to support primarily defense program development and production. Position requires consulting with customers to independently design and execute lab experiments which includes the use of (but not limited to) equipment such as digital microscopes, scanning electron microscopes, sectioning and cut-off machines, and hand tools such as micrometers and calipers. The applicant should possess a self-motivated attitude with attention to details, with an investigational problem-solving mindset.

Position Responsibilities:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-Start is required.

Level 2:
Bachelor's degree in engineering and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). Must have experience working in a laboratory environment conducting failure analysis of mechanical components and writing detailed technical reports. The applicant should also possess an investigational problem-solving mindset. Preferably, the candidate also possesses any combination of an advanced degree, experience with metallography, fractographic analysis and various failure modes, CAD software, knowledge and experience relevant to aerospace, and active security clearance.
Level 3:
Bachelor's degree in engineering and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). Must have experience working in a laboratory environment conducting failure analysis of mechanical components and writing detailed technical reports. - Knowledge of metallographic/materialographic processes and analyses
- Knowledge of pressurized systems (e.g., hydraulic or pneumatic)
- Experience with CAD software
- Relevant experience in the aerospace industry
