Digital Forensic Specialist is the contact for all initial requests and forensic enquiries arising from the client. Liaising with both the Investigations Manager and their Corporate Security Team, the primary focus of this role is to ensure the client is supported with all forensic requirements, including evaluating the initial requests and carrying out investigations on their behalf, where assistance is required. The sensitive nature of an investigation may determine the level of assistance or engagement required.
Job Responsibilities:
The Digital Forensic Specialist is responsible for:
Collecting and securing digital evidence from devices, cloud systems, and endpoints.
Using forensic tools to recover, examine, and investigate data.
Producing detailed forensic reports that meet legal and evidential standards.
Maintaining and operate the client’s forensic lab and toolsets.
Supporting data storage, backup, and archiving processes.
Documenting forensic procedures and help update standard operating protocols.
Required Qualifications:
US Citizenship is required.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance (DoD Secret)
Hands-on with forensic tools like FTK, Axiom, X-Ways, Autopsy, Cellebrite/XRY
Skilled in forensic imaging (FTK Imager, LinEN, Guymager, Tableau).
Mobile device analysis and malware/APT investigation.
Familiar with scripting (Unix, Python, PowerShell, Grep, EnCase).
Knowledge of forensic laws and guidelines (RIPA, PACE, ACPO).
Understanding of networking (OSI Model, TCP/IP).
Able to explain complex findings in simple terms.
Experience working in service improvement and meeting SLAs.
Detail-oriented, ethical, and methodical.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working with sensitive information and senior stakeholders.
Team player with flexibility and motivation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred: EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) or CHFI certification.
Equivalent industry certifications also accepted.
