Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and fostering a secure atmosphere in a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and assisting with any security-related needs to support those on site. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a government location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas, checking identification and/or authorization as required by site policies.
• Document occurrences and report security-related incidents or issues to the appropriate Allied Universal and/or client personnel.
• Assist in emergency situations by following established protocols and providing guidance to visitors and staff as needed.
• Maintain a visible presence while on patrol to help to deter disruptive or criminal behavior within the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
• Have supervisory experience in a security-related, law enforcement, or military role.
• Have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of experience as a security-related supervisor or manager or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
• Hold a Level III armed certification for Texas roles.
• Hold a valid CPR certification, preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
