Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer who can be a technical leader and drive projects from conception to completion, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role requires a blend of hands-on coding expertise, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation.

The team is primarily based in Ypsilanti, Michigan and we welcome candidates from that area, however, remote candidates may also be considered. Candidates will be asked to obtain a TS//SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Software Development: Design, document, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance, and scalable applications using Java and related technologies
• Technical Architecture: Contribute to updating and modernizing the architectural design of the existing system, ensuring it is designed for usability, performance efficiency, maintainability and cyber-security. Ultimately optimizing for cloud deployment (microservices, containerization)
• Quality Assurance: Oversee code reviews, conduct testing, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
• Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the development team and other departments, including finance, accounting, technical management and engineering

Required Qualifications:

• US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java development with at least 3 years in a cloud development role
• Technical Skills:
• Java: Extensive experience with core Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud), and Hibernate
• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• DevOps & Containers: Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
• Databases: Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Web Technologies: Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Tools: Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• AI/ML Framework Experience: Familiarity with Java-compatible AL/ML libraries and frameworks (i.e. Spring AI, DL4J, Weka, LangChain4j)
• Soft Skills:
• Analysis: Exceptional skills in requirements gathering and business analysis
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Remote:

This can be a remote position that will primarily be supporting our Ypsilanti location based out of the Eastern Standard Time (ET) time zone.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance.

This position also requires U.S. citizenship in support of contract requirements.
