JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Logistician III (Contingency Opportunity) plays a critical role in planning, coordinating, and executing complex logistics operations to support contingency missions. This position ensures the seamless acquisition, distribution, and management of resources in dynamic and often high-pressure environments, directly impacting mission success. The role requires strategic oversight of supply chain processes, including government acquisition protocols, to optimize efficiency and compliance with federal regulations. The Senior Logistician III collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and government agencies to anticipate logistical challenges and implement effective solutions. Ultimately, this position is responsible for maintaining operational readiness and sustaining mission-critical support through expert logistics management.

The required skills in government acquisition are essential for navigating the complex regulatory environment and ensuring compliance throughout the procurement lifecycle. These skills enable the Senior Logistician III to effectively negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and oversee acquisition documentation. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with DoD systems and logistics software, enhance the ability to integrate technology solutions for improved supply chain visibility and efficiency. Leadership and communication skills are applied daily to coordinate diverse teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with mission goals. Together, these skills empower the incumbent to deliver robust logistics support under contingency conditions, maintaining operational readiness and mission success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field a plus
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 3 years focused on government acquisition
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and government contracting procedures.
• Proven ability to manage complex logistics operations in contingency or high-tempo environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
• Experience working directly with Department of Defense (DoD) logistics and acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with automated logistics management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Prior deployment or contingency operation experience in a logistics leadership role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement comprehensive logistics plans to support contingency operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies and equipment.
• Manage government acquisition processes, including contract negotiation, vendor selection, and compliance with federal acquisition regulations.
• Coordinate with military, government, and civilian stakeholders to align logistics strategies with mission objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify risks and implement corrective actions to maintain operational continuity.
• Lead and mentor logistics personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to best practices in contingency logistics.
