AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP), Mission Enabling Products Business Unit, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. We are seeking a Program Manager 1 to support operations in Devens, MA.
Overview
Reporting to the AOX Devens Manager of Programs, the Program Manager 1 will align multidisciplinary engineering and business functional teams across all program and product lifecycle phases in semiconductor, directed energy, and astronomy applications. You will be responsible for profitable execution of programs that meet schedule and customer requirements. Our ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical expertise and collaborative people skills with the proven ability and experience to work within a technically dynamic, high-growth, fast-paced and strategically important operating unit for NG Space Systems.

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,900.00 - $194,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities
- Lead and direct cross-functional engineering and business teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases
- Lead program risk and opportunity management across all program functions through identification, mitigation planning and execution.
- Transition innovative optical product designs to manufacturing, working with the technical team to identify ways to streamline manufacturing and assembly processes, achieving required delivery rates and reduced cost targets
- Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts
- Work with supply chain and suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements and ensure compliance
- Brief internal and customer leadership on progress of work assigned
- Lead failure root cause analysis and corrective action teams using the 8D methodology
- Track and report on manufacturing metrics vs. plan including yield, COPQ and throughput
- Establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules
- Identify program problems and generation and execution of recovery plans
- Work closely with leadership to ensure full compliance with Division, Corporate, and Government policies
- Accountable for aspects of program execution and success
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline and 5 years of relevant experience, OR 3 years of experience with a Master's degree
- 1 - 3+ years of Program or Project Management experience or similar (e.g. Lead IPT (Integrated Product Team), Control Account Manager (CAM), or Lead NPT (New Product Team)).
- Experience in the Aerospace/Defense Industry and design for manufacturing and transition to production programs
- Gated design development experience (PDR, CDR)
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Proven analytical, technical, strategic and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and MS Project
- US Citizenship is a requirement for employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with optics (e.g. adaptive optics, deformable mirrors, complex optical structures, etc)
- Experience in manufacturing and/or production program execution with optimization and/or continuous improvement production line execution
