ICS is currently searching for a Security Infrastructure Support AWS Infrastructure and Cloud Security Support SME, for a new contract within the National Institutes of Health.
Employee(s) performing AWS Infrastructure and Security Support SME functions must demonstrate credentials to reflect knowledge, skills, and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field experience preferred.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional preferred, other CSP experience a plus).
• At least one security-related certification (CISSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty).
• Minimum of 8+ years experience in IT infrastructure and security operations.
• 5+ years direct experience architecting, deploying, and managing AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc.).
• Demonstrated expertise in hybrid cloud/on-premises architecture, including integration of AWS GovCloud or FedRAMP environments with on-premises security tools (Splunk, Cribl, Archer, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Proven track record implementing DevSecOps practices, integrating security scanning into build and release pipelines.
• Experience in cost optimization of AWS services, including budgeting, billing analysis, reserved instances, and rightsizing strategies.
• Hands-on experience managing security operations in a cloud context, including continuous monitoring, log ingestion pipelines, and compliance reporting.
• Strong understanding of federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST 800-53, M-21-31).
• Strong leadership, communication, and ability to report to Federal COR and stakeholders.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple teams (Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, Application teams).
• Demonstrated expertise in developing professional technical, logical, architecture designs and diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and compliance documentation.
