I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Utilize skill and knowledge to lead others in the proper procedure to plan, layout methods of repair and determine depth of rework by conducting formal/informal or on-the-job training; 2) Develop training courses, curriculum and instructing courses as required; 3) Demonstrate proper trade techniques and practices, explaining safety precautions and giving instructions on the proper use of hand/power tools, materials, measuring devices, precision instruments and safety devices; 4) Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications and maintenance instructions; 5) Troubleshoot systems, disassembling components/systems, and determining required repairs; 6) Perform complete structural check of aircraft; 7) Maintain training records and making recommendations for employee's training plan progress or additional training as appropriate; 8) Develop and revise lesson plans, developing and administering tests and maintaining progress charts; 9) May assign tasks to shop personnel in a training status and checks work in progress to ensure procedures, methods and practices are consistent with established policy and standards are met; 10)Perform production tasks of a journey level Sheet Metal Mechanic, when not engaged in training requirements. I am consulted by other employees in difficult situations.

- You will conduct formal training and on the job training for the full range of Sheet Metal Mechanics duties on fixed, rotary wing and trainer aircraft and aircraft components.
- You will assign tasks to immediate workers, relay supervisor's instructions and provide guidance to workers on methods and procedures.
- You will evaluate the progress of workers in terms of such factors as interest, cooperation, assimilation of basic fundamentals and theory, and practical application of work methods.
- You will perform journeyman level tasks in areas such as aircraft lines, ground check, flight test and various component overhaul and repair shops.
