Job Description

As a Security Officer - Logistics Access Specialist in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entrances, check badges, and help to deter security-related incidents by maintaining a visible presence. Your responsibilities include conducting access control duties, supporting daily operations, and delivering outstanding customer service to visitors and staff. You will contribute to a caring, people-first culture that values teamwork, reliability, and integrity, playing a critical role in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for everyone on site.

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Control access to the location by verifying credentials and monitoring entry points for authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles.
• Assist in maintaining an orderly flow of people and goods within the logistics and distribution environment by following established security-related procedures.
• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by addressing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, utilizing problem-solving skills to address issues as they arise.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and report any unusual activity.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, property damage, or equipment malfunctions according to site-specific protocols.
• Support site-specific emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal policies and procedures.
• Follow all site-specific policies and procedures to support a secure and orderly environment within the logistics and distribution location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience in access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
