Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol - Part Time in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, responding as appropriate to emergencies and incidents at the location.
• Carry out regular and random patrols, both inside the retail location and around its perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Monitor the premises for any unusual or suspicious activity and report findings according to established protocols.
• Support store staff and visitors by addressing questions and/or concerns in a professional manner.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and any interactions requiring escalation.
• Remain alert and prepared to act as needed in compliance with all Allied Universal policies and the specific requirements of the location.
• Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when their assistance is required.

Minimum Requirements:

• An active armed guard card or license is required.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
