Job Description
As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Badge in CHANNAHON , IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more.
As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical or petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. You will perform routine patrols, remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and manage access points with professionalism. Your role will involve providing outstanding customer service and clear communication, all while utilizing computer and badge systems. What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Control access to the location by verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized individuals, in accordance with established procedures and site-specific guidelines.
- Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas within the chemical or petrochemical environment.
- Provide customer service to all personnel and visitors by responding to inquiries and offering assistance as needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter suspicious or unauthorized activity, recognizing that working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of all access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by site policies.
- Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations and coordinating with emergency personnel when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by TSA.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
