Job Description

As a Security Officer - Tech/Media Dispatch in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more.

As a Dispatch Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will play a key role in monitoring and coordinating security-related activities. Your responsibilities include managing communications, dispatching resources, and providing detailed reporting to support the overall security-related operations. You will help to deter incidents through your responsiveness and strong customer service approach, while upholding our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage incoming and outgoing communications from the dispatch center, prioritizing security-related calls and coordinating responses as needed.
• Document and relay incident reports, suspicious activity, and/or emergencies to appropriate personnel and first responders in a timely manner.
• Utilize communication tools and technology to track and support security-related operations throughout the location.
• Provide customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and/or contractors with security-related inquiries and procedures.
• Assist in the coordination and dispatch of security team members to various areas of the location as situations arise.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
• Conduct regular and random security-related checks of the dispatch area and maintain awareness of activities throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
