What You Will Do:
As a Voice Over Internet Protocol Subject Matter Expert at Independent Software, you will provide advanced technical support, engineering, and analytical expertise for secure voice, video, and data communication systems across Department of Defense and Intelligence Community environments. As a Voice Over Internet Protocol Subject Matter Expert at Independent Software, you will provide advanced technical support, engineering, and analytical expertise for secure voice, video, and data communication systems across Department of Defense and Intelligence Community environments. You will work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity specialists to ensure VoIP and related services are configured, optimized, and maintained in compliance with established technical and security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise in the design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of VoIP systems supporting secure communication networks
- Support day-to-day operations and troubleshooting of network devices and servers related to AVMM, IPTV, and streaming services
- Integrate VoIP technologies with other communication systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and security
- Analyze and evaluate existing VoIP infrastructure and recommend improvements to enhance performance and reliability
- Monitor and manage VoIP systems through customer ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow, ensuring timely incident response and resolution
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to ensure VoIP systems comply with DoD information assurance and security control requirements
- Prepare and deliver technical briefings, reports, and documentation for colleagues, leadership, and government representatives
- Support network configuration management, documentation, and change control procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated technical expertise in network engineering, VoIP design, and unified communications technologies
- Hands-on experience with SIP, call managers, gateways, routers, switches, and firewalls supporting VoIP traffic
- Proficiency with customer ticketing systems such as ServiceNow for incident tracking and resolution
- Familiarity with AVMM, IPTV, and streaming service integration within enterprise network infrastructures
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies and compliance standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to system performance and optimization
- xcellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience in network engineering, VoIP administration, or unified communications support
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community programs of similar scope and complexity preferred
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required (Security+ CE or equivalent)
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
