Responsibilities:
Serve as a Science-Engineer Program Manager 3 (SCPM 3) of the Plutonium Mission Consolidated Support (PMCS) office which is managed by ALDWP Production Enterprise Services.
Manage crosscutting support services that enable consistent, efficient, and standardized operations across all plutonium mission areas. The selected individual will provide vision, strategic and tactical planning support for a portfolio that will oversee approximately $400M of scope in FY26 executed by multiple LANL ALDs.
Develop working relationships that span existing internal and/or external institutional missions and extend into new opportunities as policies, missions, and opportunities evolve.
Provide leadership and overall management of an assigned technical operational portfolio, which may be large or small in total budget and may encompass one or more discrete programs.
Broker with customers and individual researchers or research groups/programs to determine what work will be done to meet the customer’s needs, general timeframes, and funding requirements.

Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering related field, from an accredited institution and 12 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and technical experience directly related to the occupation.
Expert-level knowledge of program and project management methodologies, including the development of project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), and work packages; management of scope, schedule, budget, and performance baselines; and documentation of baseline reports and change control activities.
Proven experience supporting cross-organizational coordination by working with internal Work Package Managers and line management teams to maintain clear communication and ensure portfolio alignment.
Demonstrated expertise in risk management, including identifying portfolio risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies, recommending risk acceptance or avoidance, and monitoring/reporting on the progress of mitigation plans in coordination with executing organizations.
Strong ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and/or external stakeholders, fostering trust and transparency to support program success.
Experience facilitating monthly program status reviews, engaging Work Package Managers and line organization leadership to report on progress, surface issues, and drive accountability.
Experience mentoring junior staff, providing guidance on program planning, performance tracking, and successful execution of program deliverables.
Ability to apply strategic, cross-disciplinary insight to contribute to the development of a comprehensive, integrated annual plan (e.g., Five-Year National Strategic Plan – FYNSP), ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Successful drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced engineering or science degree with experience related to nuclear materials production and process development.
A working understanding of LANL plutonium missions.
Previous experience in supporting work in a production agency.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Advanced technical degree.
Willingness to take initiative on new tasks or projects.
Experience utilizing EVMS principles.
Active DOE Q clearance.
Experience working with classified information/rednet account.
Location/Work Arrangement:
The work arrangement for this position is a 4/10 schedule onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.
