Database Engineer - Top Secret Cleared

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Database Engineer to join a Federal Program located in San Diego, CA. The Database Engineer will design, develop, and administer Oracle-based database systems for an enterprise-wide Imagery Archive and Geospatial Intelligence System. This role involves working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to implement significant upgrades and ensure secure, high-performance database operations.

Responsibilities of the Database Engineer include:

· Design and implement Oracle database configurations for enterprise systems

· Develop PL/SQL functions, procedures, packages, and types

· Optimize SQL queries and ensure database performance

· Administer Oracle RDBMS versions 12c and 19c, including pluggable databases

· Apply Oracle STIG compliance and hardening procedures

· Support database operations on RHEL Linux (versions 7/8)

· Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate database solutions into secure environments

Qualifications for the Database Engineer include:

· Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline

· 6-8+ years of database development and administration experience

· Strong Oracle development experience (12c and 19c)

· Proficiency in PL/SQL, SQL syntax, and database design processes

· Experience with RHEL Linux and shell scripting (bash, csh)

· Familiarity with AWS RDS, Jira, and Git

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Must have an active Top Secret government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications for the Database Engineer include:

· Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance

· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field

· Experience with DAO programming in C++ or Java

· Experience with Oracle Spatial option

· Experience with Oracle RAC operations

· Experience with Oracle Label Security (OLS)

· Experience with Oracle Identity Management (OIM) and Enterprise User Security (EUS)

· Experience with Oracle Dataguard

Compensation for the Database Engineer includes:

· Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 depending on experience
