Group is seeking an engineer with expertise in structural engineering for sea, ground, air, and space- based payloads. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary engineering team contributing to the development of operational prototype hardware, spanning the full program life cycle from concept development to fielding and test. The candidate will be expected to fill roles as a functional engineer, performing static and dynamic structural analysis, shock and vibration testing and model correlation, and influence the structural design based on findings. Efforts will support rapid, conventional, and Level 1 programs.

Group is looking for a candidate with experience predicting the mechanical behavior of structures using Finite element analysis for static and dynamic environments, performing vibration and shock environmental testing and the subsequent model correlation, and developing tests to characterize the behavior of structural components is desired. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary engineering team contributing to the development of operational prototype hardware, spanning the full program life cycle from concept development to fielding and test.

Candidate should have ability to perform hand calculations and simplified models in conjunction with utilization of CAD and Finite element analysis software, such as FEMAP, NASTRAN, SOLIDWORKS, and ANSYS.

Must Haves:
• 5+ years of experience with static and dynamic structural modeling and analysis
• Ability to clearly communicate results in oral presentations and written reports
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams

Nice to Haves:
• Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or other relevant field of study
• Experience with structural testing and model correlation
• Experience with STOP (Structural, Thermal, Optical Performance) analysis
• Experience with LOS (Line-of-Sight) Jitter analysis
• Experience with vibration or shock testing
• Experience with test fixture design (or other forms of design)
• Experience with predicting the mechanical behavior of structures using finite element analysis for static and dynamic environments, performing vibration and shock environmental testing, and developing tests to characterize the behavior of structural components.
