Description
The NASA Advanced Enterprise Global Information Technology Solutions at Leidos currently has an opening for a Mid-level Systems Engineer to work at Ames Research Center.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic, mid-level candidate and must be qualified to maintain the eight L3Harris 406-420 MHz radio repeaters (seven operational and one always serving as backup), primary and backup transmit and receive antenna systems, redundant transmitter combiners and receiver multi-couplers, and other directly associated radio repeater station equipment.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic, mid-level candidate and must be qualified to maintain the eight L3Harris 406-420 MHz radio repeaters (seven operational and one always serving as backup), primary and backup transmit and receive antenna systems, redundant transmitter combiners and receiver multi-couplers, and other directly associated radio repeater station equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Land Mobile Radio (LMR) System Maintenance, Operation and Customer Service Support.
- Maintenance, programming, and repair of al P25 customer supported radios.
- Video Systems, Multimedia Support and Customer Support.
- Emergency management support.
- The programming and repair of 400 customer L3Harris and Motorola Trunking radios that support Center law enforcement, fire operations, and other functions where the radios are depended upon for safety-of-life and national security objectives.
- This support also entails Mid-Level knowledge of the Trunking System design, development, and integration of hardware and software used in the system. This is needed to support troubleshooting in the event of a failure or to design changes that are needed for the Trunking system.
Basic Qualifications:
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret/SCI Clearance.
- Bachelors Degree and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be in lieu of degree.
- The candidate must be qualified to maintain the eight L3Harris 406-420 MHz radio repeaters (seven operational and one always serving as backup), primary and backup transmit and receive antenna systems, redundant transmitter combiners and receiver multi-couplers, and other directly associated radio repeater station equipment.
- Must be qualified to provide video system maintenance, operation, multimedia support, and customer support.
- Have Mid-Level knowledge and training in support of the front gate Mega sign and Barco Video wall.
- This work includes design, current configuration, and future troubleshooting.
- The candidate must be able to support the center's emergency radio Communication equipment.
- The person must have Mid-Level knowledge of the operation, and the equipment used and be able to troubleshoot it. This will be utilized in operating the Software, developing new designs as new equipment comes along, and installing and maintaining the equipment.

- Harris P25 System Maintenance, Regional Network Manager; Network Operation and Maintenance (2016)
- M/A Com EDACS Radio Trunking System & Master III Training
- NASA Annual Security Education and Training for Clearance Holders (2025)
- Microsoft Visio
- Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) (2007)
- UNIX Systems and Network Administration Certified by Silicon Graphics® Inc. (2000)
- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) 2000
