Description
SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Software Developer to join our dynamic team supporting Naval Education and Training Command's (NETC) Chief Information Officer (CIO) located in Pensacola, FL.
Job Duties:
• Developing, testing, and maintaining software applications using OOP languages such as Java, Python, C++, C#, F#, Visual Basic, and Ruby for our seven Programs of Records; Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource Systems (CeTARS) for both schoolhouse & corporate and Navy & Joint MyEducation (MyED), Naval Education and Training Future Officer and Citizenship User System (NETFOCUS), Navy Inspector General Hotline Tracking System (NIGHTS), Navy Enlisted Advancement System (NEAS), Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM), and Learning Assessment System (LAS).
• Possess strong technical skills, the ability to work in fast-paced environments, and foundational qualifications compliant with DoD 8140 guidance, ensuring cybersecurity workforce (CWF) standards are met. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and test high-quality software applications using OOP languages, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, analysts, and other developers, to deliver comprehensive software solutions.
• Debug and resolve software issues and implement performance improvements as needed.
• Follow best practices for software development, including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.
• Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and frameworks to enhance development processes and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and guidelines as outlined in DoD 8140 guidance.
• Utilize current SQL-based products and tools for extraction and reporting of information to support business requirements analysis and development. Products may include TOAD, PL/SQL Developer, Oracle Business Intelligence, or SAP Business Objects reports engine.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
• High school degree and four years of experience
• Experience in software development using OOP languages (Java, Python, C++, C#, F#, Visual Basic, and Ruby).
• Strong proficiency in one or more OOP languages (Java, Python, C++, C#, F#, Visual Basic, and Ruby). Experience with software development tools and integrated development environments (IDEs).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Required Security Clearance:
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Leveraged secure AI tools to automate the generation of test cases and identify bugs, improving code quality and reducing development time.
• Designed and built AI models with a focus on data privacy and security, incorporating techniques like federated learning and differential privacy.
• Contributed to the development of a secure AI platform, ensuring all AI integrations adhered to strict security protocols and compliance standards.
• Experience in the defense industry.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). • Experience with database management and SQL.
• Experience with Spring, Seam, Struts or other MVC architectures
• Additional cybersecurity certifications.
