Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver Shelter in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more.

As a Patrol Armed Officer at this shelter location, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling designated areas to help deter security-related incidents. This role is both an armed and driving position, requiring you to remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and respond to situations with professionalism and care. You will deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with all individuals, and embody Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation while fostering a welcoming environment for those you serve.

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the shelter location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and support a secure environment.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points, verifying identification and controlling access as required by site protocols.
• Report and document any suspicious behavior, hazards, or incidents encountered during patrols or while on post.
• Collaborate with shelter staff and/or local authorities as needed to address potential security-related concerns or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

• An active armed guard card or license is required.
• Must have 3+ years of either military, law enforcement or armed security experience.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
