As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver Shelter in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more.
As a Patrol Armed Officer at this shelter location, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling designated areas to help deter security-related incidents. This role is both an armed and driving position, requiring you to remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and respond to situations with professionalism and care. What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the shelter location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and support a secure environment.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points, verifying identification and controlling access as required by site protocols.
- Report and document any suspicious behavior, hazards, or incidents encountered during patrols or while on post.
- Collaborate with shelter staff and/or local authorities as needed to address potential security-related concerns or emergencies.

- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
- An active armed guard card or license is required.
- Must have 3+ years of either military, law enforcement or armed security experience.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
