Job Description:
The Sr. Manager, IT Systems Engineering is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure and network systems. This role involves managing a team of technical systems administrators and network engineers, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical systems administrators and network engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage.
- Ensure the effective installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networks and related equipment.
- Plan, execute, and manage IT infrastructure and network projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Monitor system and network performance and reliability, identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact operations.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT systems, networks, and data from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure and manage IT resources and services.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system and network performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Ensure IT systems and networks comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Required Skills:
- Typically a minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure and network engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies. Proficiency in network engineering and administration.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, ITIL, PMP, CCNA, CCNP.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in managing IT infrastructure and network projects, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
