The UH-60 Blackhawk Aircraft Mechanic AM-I - (15T) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $46.35 - $49.65 (Hourly rate set by Union CBA)
This position includes a competitive benefits package.
Bi-weekly accrual of 3.39 hours (0 to less than 48 months)
Bi-weekly accrual of 4.93 hours (48 months but less than 108 months)
Bi-weekly accrual of 6.47 hours (108 months or more)
11 paid Holidays (outlined in CBA)
Sick Leave - Newly hired or transferred employees into the bargaining until shall receive up front/front-loaded prorate sick leave hours based on the remaining weeks in the calendar year including the week of hire at the rate of 1.33 hour per week up to 56 hours

- A valid (FAA) A&P certificate is Preferred, (not required).
- Must have Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Two (2) years of Rotary wing aircraft mechanic experience, and Two (2) years of UH-60 Blackhawk specific hands-on maintainer experience.
- All UH-60 mechanic experience must be within the recent, past Six (6) six years.
- US Citizenship is Required to obtain a US Govt NAC-I Public Trust and for facility access to this work site.
- Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
- Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
- Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections.
- Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required.
- Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
- Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
- Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft.
- Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
- Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is Required.
- U.S. Military Technical school or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required.
- A valid (FAA) A&P certificate is preferred, not required.
- Must have Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Two (2) years of Rotary wing aircraft mechanic experience, and Two (2) years of UH-60 Blackhawk specific hands-on maintainer experience.
- All UH-60 mechanic experience must be within the recent, past Six (6) six years.
- A valid Driver's License is Required.
- Mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox; Tools must be etched with PID and the toolbox shadowed. (Recruiters will provide toolbox requirements).
- Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned, under the Union CBA; (Day shift, Swing shift, Night shift, and/or weekend shift, if required and applicable).
- Must be able to obtain a Valid US Passport and be able to travel internationally if requested/required to meet mission operational requirements.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Security Clearance; NAC-I (T1) Public Trust. US Citizenship is Required to obtain a Security Clearance, and for facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned UH-60 (MDS) Mission Design Series aircraft.
- Basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned UH-60 MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
- Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems, may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
- Mechanics receive technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, may occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
- Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
- Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality).
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
- Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
- May be required to lift/push/pull heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.
- Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
- May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.
- May work in maintenance shop or outside, must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.
- May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment and may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.
- May be expected to work in austere environments and all-weather conditions.
- Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.
