As a Security Guard - Armed Government Patrols Full-Time in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.
As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols within a government location. You will maintain a visible presence to support a secure environment, respond to incidents, and interact with staff and visitors, all while carrying out your responsibilities in an armed capacity. Your role will focus on delivering exceptional customer service, clear communication, and upholding our core values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach.

What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies in accordance with Allied Universal standards, providing customer service to clients and visitors.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols, armed, throughout the location and its perimeter to observe for suspicious activity and help to deter unauthorized access or criminal behavior.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, and control entry to restricted areas as required.
- Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to established protocols.
- Assist with emergency response activities, following protocols for evacuations, medical emergencies, or other incidents as needed.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Remain alert and aware of surroundings, adapting to changing working environments and conditions as required by the location.

- Availability across various days and shifts
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
- Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
- Provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Possess a state, county, or city issued security license; this is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
