DCS has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Digital Directorate (AFLCMC/ESDI). The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Digital (AFPEO/HB) has the collective Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Digital portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/PEO Digital Directorate is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS.
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle. You will apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.
In this position you will provide Electrical Engineering support for programs and projects. Support involves all the system engineering research, design, development, installation, testing, and operation aspects of the systems under the responsibility of the IPT. You effectively apply practical engineering knowledge of a wide range of established system engineering principles, concepts and methods, with an emphasis on electrical engineering while ensuring OSS&E is considered in all activities.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide system engineering review and analysis of assigned systems throughout all acquisition phases, including conceptual, demonstration, validation, engineering, manufacturing development, production, deployment, and sustainment.
Assist in translating DoD user requirements into system requirements for design, development, fabrication, testing, and evaluation of systems, subsystems, and equipment.
Develop and refine features to improve, extend, or validate current methods, data, or techniques.
Review overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability) requirements.
Assist in the development of system specifications and architecture products.
Perform independent analysis of engineering changes, specifications, and vendor proposals, providing recommendations to Government points of contact.
Support life cycle cost evaluations of proposed systems and components.
Provide test and evaluation support, including planning, execution, and analysis, and participate in Integrated Test Teams, Test Readiness Reviews, and related program events.
Schedule and secure test resources to meet program office objectives.
Monitor and report on test and evaluation (T&E) activities across all systems.
Support design, planning, analysis, reporting, and documentation during any T&E phase, including applicable certifications and procedures.
Contribute to technical plans by reviewing documents, supporting working groups, tracking risk and issue resolution, and conducting special studies to define alternative approaches.
Support Foreign Military Sales activities as required.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must hold an active Secret clearance
Bachelor's Degree in a professional engineering discipline and at least 5 years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, 3 of which must be in the DoD, OR 7+ years of directly related experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD.
Experience and/or training in the following electrical engineering areas:
Design, development, and circuit analysis.
RF chain sub-specialties (antenna design, high power transmitters/amplifiers, receiver processing, etc.).
Electro-mechanical controls.
Modeling and simulation.
Test and evaluation.
Technical data package development and sustainment.
Principles of configuration management.
DoD Acquisition processes.
Familiarity with Electronic Warfare and/or Air Combat operations, including live aircrew training, TTP development, and Range Infrastructure architectures/systems.
Familiarity with foreign ground radar intelligence or application to DoD systems.
Desired Skills :
Master's Degree in a professional engineering discipline and at least 3 years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, 3 of which must be in the DoD.
Degree from an ABET-accredited educational program.
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design, analysis, and evaluation methods.
Proficiency in test planning, execution, and evaluation methodologies.
Familiarity with RF systems, electro-mechanical controls, and configuration management.
Understanding of DoD acquisition and test policies.
