Position Overview:
Strategic Technology Institute Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation to support internal programs, audits, and external communications. This role plays a critical part in ensuring documentation integrity and maintaining consistency of communication standards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including instruction manuals, how-to guides, journal articles, and other materials to simplify complex information.
Ensure consistency of documentation practices across programs and departments.
Collaborate closely with engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Support internal and external audits through organized and compliant documentation.
Implement best practices for document control, versioning, and formatting.
Use MS Office Suite—including MS Access—for document creation, data management, and reporting.
Uphold documentation integrity and compliance with organizational standards and government requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance
Information Assurance Certification: Level II IT Certification
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in technical writing or a related field.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation consistency.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework toward a recognized English or writing certification such as Society for Technical Communicators (STC).
Advanced skills in documentation formatting and compliance.
Experience supporting government programs or defense contracts.
Education:
Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited university.
