Duties
Help
  • Serves as the Senior Construction Control Representative for job site construction control of Civil Works, Military construction, Operations and Maintenance and other construction projects.
  • Exhibits knowledge of construction theory, principles methods and techniques combined with an understanding of the various construction trades and crafts, in performing, directing, and supervising on-site construction control and inspection work.
  • Serves as a Contracting Officer Representative. Engages in surveillance on a day-to-day basis on the full range of field construction activities associated with a variety of construction projects, reports and documents data related to those efforts.
  • Makes regular visits to various work sites to evaluate the contractor's operations, adherence to plans, specifications, schedules, and to resolve technical problems or controversial matters.
  • Reviews the contractor's quality control plan with respect to contract requirements and site conditions and provides recommendations to the Resident Engineer.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience for GS-12: One-year of experience which includes performing construction project oversight such as, but not limited to, recommending approval of construction plans; providing support to contractors throughout construction projects by approving schedules and progress payments, performing inspections and compiling reports on progress and contract performance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
