Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Healthcare Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies while on duty.
• Carry out regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing emergencies as needed within the healthcare environment.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain awareness of activity within the location.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and any unusual occurrences as required by Allied Universal policies and client guidelines.
• Work closely with staff, visitors, and/or patients to provide assistance and direction while maintaining a professional and courteous presence.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and drills as directed, assisting in the coordination of response efforts during incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an Act 235 qualification if applying in Pennsylvania.
• Possess a valid firearms permit.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
