Position Summary
Leidos’ National Security Sector is seeking a highly qualified Tactical Data Link (TDL) Analyst to support operations at a customer site in Langley, Virginia. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the ACCA5JI JINTACCS mission and influence the future of tactical combat system interoperability. In this role, you’ll conduct research, perform engineering analysis, and recommend updates to TDL Military Standards (MIL-STDs) based on U.S. Air Force Information Exchange Requirements (IERs)—all while minimizing disruption to existing systems.

Pay Range: Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

Position Summary
Leidos’ National Security Sector is seeking a highly qualified Tactical Data Link (TDL) Analyst to support operations at a customer site in Langley, Virginia. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the ACCA5JI JINTACCS mission and influence the future of tactical combat system interoperability. In this role, you’ll conduct research, perform engineering analysis, and recommend updates to TDL Military Standards (MIL-STDs) based on U.S. Air Force Information Exchange Requirements (IERs)—all while minimizing disruption to existing systems.
Core Responsibilities
TDL Standards Development
- Research and engineer updates to TDL MIL-STDs aligned with USAF tactical combat system IERs
- Develop and evaluate bit-level implementation specifications
- Provide technical guidance to software developers and testers
- Submit change proposals per JMTCCB TOR guidelines
Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent USAF interests at AFSIB, Joint, Bilateral, and Allied TDL meetings and working groups
- Participate in strategic discussions on USAF TDL objectives
- Evaluate external proposals for impact on USAF systems and joint/allied interoperability
- Deliver written assessments and recommendations.
Technical Research & Documentation
- Review U.S. and Allied technical documentation to identify discrepancies
- Draft change proposals for TDL configuration items, including:
- MIL-STDs: 3011, 6011, 6016, 6017, 6020, 6090, MADL
- NATO STANAGs, ATDLPs, ADatPs, APPs
- MIL-STDs: 3011, 6011, 6016, 6017, 6020, 6090, MADL
Test Analysis & Interface Proposals
- Analyze interoperability test trouble reports to assess system impact and severity
- Participate in USAF Technical Analysis Groups and Joint Analysis Review Panels
- Develop Interface Change Proposals to resolve identified deficiencies
Standards Review & Drafting
- Review newly drafted MIL-STDs for formatting, terminology, and incorporation accuracy
- Author Technical Information Design Plan – Test Edition (TIDP-TE) documents to support formal standardization
Program Integration & Support
- Review Information Support Plans (ISPs) on the JASM website for MIL-STD reference accuracy
- Collaborate with USAF requirements and program offices to integrate TDL into platforms and systems
- Contribute to operational concepts and architectures leveraging emerging capabilities
Strategic Communication
- Research and prepare background papers, staff studies, talking points, and presentation materials
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Prior experience as a rated USAF Fighter Pilot or Electronic Warfare Officer/Weapons Systems Officer (EWO/WSO)
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex technical documents
- Active Top Secret clearance
