Overview
VTG is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide financial and business management support to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition (ASN (RDA)). This position will play a key role in supporting the Navy's financial planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) processes, ensuring resources are efficiently managed and aligned with strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DoD financial management, analytical problem-solving, and experience supporting senior executive and flag-level leadership. This position is 100% onsite in Arlington, VA.

What will you do?
- Support ASN (RDA) leadership and staff in financial management, budget formulation, and execution oversight.
- Analyze financial data and program planning documentation to assess alignment with Navy and DoD priorities.
- Conduct financial analysis, identify and evaluate risks, and develop recommendations to mitigate financial exposure.
- Perform long-range financial forecasting (five years) to support resource planning and decision-making.
- Conduct independent research and analysis of historical financial information to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
- Prepare, review, and track funding documentation (e.g., RDT&E, OPN, O&MN).
- Utilize automated financial systems and data processing tools to accomplish budgeting and funding tasks.
- Develop reports, briefings, and presentations for senior executives, SES, and Flag Officers.
- Coordinate across Navy and DoD organizations to ensure timely and accurate execution of financial actions.
Do you have what it takes?
- Minimum of 5 years of business or finance experience supporting DoD programs.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related management discipline from an accredited college or university; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Working knowledge of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
- Experience analyzing financial information in DoD program planning documents and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct financial and risk analysis, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Proven ability to forecast financial data up to five years in support of long-term planning.
- General knowledge of funding documents and automated financial management systems used in DoD budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working in an Echelon I organization and supporting Senior Executive Service (SES), Flag Officers (FO), or General Officers (GO).
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Must have and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance.
