Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to provide expert software engineering support for NAVSEA 09P – Navy Modernization Program. This role will support the U.S. Navy Warfighter by applying advanced software development principles to enhance Navy Modernization (NM) processes, tools, and IT systems, including the Navy Data Environment (NDE). The candidate will contribute to the design, development, integration, and maintenance of software solutions in a secure, mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities:
Analyze user needs and develop software solutions using principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Apply Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps practices to software development life cycles.
Update, enhance, and maintain existing software capabilities and databases within the NM program.
Collaborate with program management, acquisition, logistics, security, and other functional teams to integrate hardware and software systems.
Develop software specifications, performance requirements, and technical documentation aligned with Navy Modernization policy.
Support the implementation and operation of NDE modules (NDE-EP, NDE-NM, NDE-ILS) to ensure continuous process improvement and lifecycle management of Navy modernization initiatives.
Conduct testing (alpha, beta) and provide daily operational support, including Help Desk resolution for NDE stakeholders.
Support adherence to DoD/Navy procedures and policies, including the DoD 5000 process.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
15+ years of software engineering experience, including Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps application.
Demonstrated expertise in large-scale, mission-critical software systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
Experience with DoD/Navy software engineering projects, including lifecycle management and modernization programs.
Familiarity with DoD 5000 procedures and policies.
Skills & Expertise:
Advanced proficiency in software design, development, testing, and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps practices.
Ability to work across multiple disciplines and coordinate complex systems integration.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
