Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) Is actively seeking a Senior Advisor for Responsible Innovation in Health and Biomedicine to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).
Responsibilities:
1. Support the design and establishment of responsible innovation strategies within ARPA-H research programs and projects to drive health outcomes
2. Facilitate engagement across ARPA-H offices on a diversity of ethical, legal, and social issues coupled to health innovation, and provide research support on technical, policy, social science and other areas
3. Provide subject matter expertise in one more domain of responsible innovation in health (e.g. clinical bioethics, governance of frontier technologies, privacy and data rights) and as a liaison to connect ARPA-H staff with other leading experts
4. Support agency responses to policy implementation related to responsible innovation
5. Support the design of mechanisms to facilitate responsible innovation implementation within programs, such as through contracting and agreements
Requirements:
1. 10+ years of experience advising and developing responsible innovation approaches in R&D environments
2. 10 + years of expertise in one more domain of responsible innovation in health and biomedicine (e.g. clinical bioethics, governance of frontier technologies, privacy and data rights, liability, etc.)
3. Familiarity with government research and development and science and technology environments
4. Ability to read and understand technical approaches to product development (science, engineering, OR product strategy expertise)
5. Excellent organizational and communication skills and excel at working both independently and with a team
6. Demonstrated creativity, foresight, professionalism, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving program management problems
7. Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
8. Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree (i.e. Master's, Ph.D., J.D.) is strongly preferred
Position is D.C hybrid and some travel is anticipated
