Job Title: ISR Technician (OCONUS – Africa)
Location: Deployed OCONUS (Africa)
Clearance Requirement: Active US Clearance required
Medical Requirement: Class 2 Medical Certificate and Chamber Card or the ability to get one
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified ISR Technician to support OCONUS contract in Africa. The candidate will provide technical expertise in the maintenance and sustainment of ISR platforms, focusing on L3/Wescam MX-series EO/IR sensor systems and associated aircraft communication/radio systems. This role requires both hands-on maintenance skills and the ability to serve as an instructor/mentor, assisting in the development of a partner nation’s ISR maintenance program.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and technical instruction to partner nation personnel in ISR equipment maintenance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of a partner nation ISR maintenance program, including curriculum development, documentation, and skills transfer.
• Assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of L3/Wescam MX-series EO/IR sensor systems.
• Assist in the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of aircraft radio and communications systems.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on ISR mission equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, security, and maintenance standards.
• Support flight operations as required, ensuring ISR systems are fully mission capable.
• Assist with developing and maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and training activities.
• Coordinate with U.S. and partner nation leadership to enhance sustainment capabilities.
Required Qualifications
• Active Security Clearance.
• Class 2 Medical Certification and Chamber Card or ability to get one.
• L3/Wescam Factory Certification on MX-series EO/IR systems.
• Proven experience maintaining MX-series ISR sensors.
• Experience with aircraft radio/communications systems maintenance.
• Prior experience as an instructor/trainer with the ability to develop curriculum and deliver hands-on technical training.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills to work effectively with partner nation personnel.
• Ability to work independently in austere OCONUS environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior military or contractor ISR maintenance experience.
• Experience supporting deployed operations in Africa or other OCONUS environments.
• Familiarity with multi-domain ISR platforms and integration into operations.
• Previous experience developing and sustaining partner nation training programs.
Contract Details
• Duration: Multi-month OCONUS deployment.
• Location: Africa (specific country TBD).
• Travel/Deployment: Extended OCONUS rotations required (60 days on/30 days off)
NOTE: This is for a six month opportunity in a country in Africa. However, depending on the candidate and how the contract evolves, it could be up to one and a half years (not guaranteed).
