Job Description
The Model Based Engineering Department (E92) is seeking an Engineering Manager 2 to lead the development of digital engineering capabilities that will support the delivery of digital design products to the government. This role will be responsible for overseeing the development of a cloud-based environment that securely houses and manages carrier model files, ensuring seamless integration and utilization throughout the vessel's lifecycle.

The Role
The Model Based Engineering Department is seeking an engineering manager to lead the development of digital engineering capabilities that will support the delivery of digital design products and development of future processes. This candidate will lead a team that is creating requirements for a cloud based environment that will house carrier model files and support the use of the deliverables throughout the lifecycle of the vessel. The ideal candidate will have cloud experience with Siemens PLM and design tools. This role will serve as an interface between NNS and the U.S. Navy to help define business requirements. The person should work to be collaborative and customer focused.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Nice to Have
The ideal candidate will be familiar with cloud concepts, Siemens PLM software and Engineering and design processes
