OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology.
Responsibilities and Duties
OCT currently has an opening for an Information Assurance/Security Engineer, Manager to work with one of our federal clients. The IASE Manager is responsible for developing and implementing security policies and procedures, IDS/IPS, design, develop and implement security networking architecture, monitoring security systems, managing security solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
This individual must have a deep understanding of information security concepts such as Access Control, Network Security, Cryptography, and Vulnerability Management. Additionally, they must have experience in managing security projects and responding to Security Incidents, as well as managing security professionals. As such they must have experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the NIST 800-53 Rev 5 controls.
This position is contingent upon contract award.

Day to day responsibilities include:
- Managing a team of 5 security professionals on client site
- Serving as a liaison between the government and the OCT's delivery team
- Ensuring all project deliverables are delivered on time and meet OCT standards
- Coaching/Mentoring project staff
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- BA/BS degree in IT related field
- 10+ years of experience with Access Control, Network Security, Cryptography, and Vulnerability Management
- 10+ years of experience managing security projects and security professionals
- 10+ years of experience AND current CISSP OR 15+ years of experience AND Security+ (CISSP preferred)
- Proof of Certification(s) required
- Passing a background check will be required
- This position is on-site in Washington, DC
