Job Description
As a Security Officer - Full Time Shift in North Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more.
As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence throughout the property. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and communication. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license, as you will be responsible for patrolling designated areas by vehicle and/or on foot. What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order and support a secure environment.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to observe for any irregularities.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report any suspicious behavior or incidents.
- Communicate and collaborate with facility staff, visitors, and emergency personnel as needed to support security-related operations and emergency responses.
- Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding daily activities, incidents, and any security-related observations during patrols.
- Remain alert to the unique needs and challenges of the healthcare environment, providing assistance and guidance to staff, patients, and visitors as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
