Job Requirements

This senior-level Full Stack Software Engineer will lead and contribute to the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable, and user-centered digital services for the public sector. As a Software Engineer III, you will work across the full stack-from frontend frameworks to backend APIs and infrastructure integration-within Agile delivery teams supporting high-impact federal programs. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive on solving complex problems, collaborating with designers and product managers, and ensuring every solution meets strict technical, security, and accessibility standards.

The Impact You Will Create:

This project supports the modernization of a large-scale federal disclosure and data management platform. The work involves designing, developing, and maintaining a secure, cloud-based system that improves how information is submitted, processed, and accessed by the public. The team will leverage Agile, DevSecOps, and user-centered design practices to deliver scalable, high-impact digital services that enhance transparency, compliance, and accessibility. Efforts include building modern APIs and web interfaces, implementing Zero Trust security, automating testing and deployments, and driving continuous improvement through cloud-native and AI-enabled solutions.

Your Responsibilities in This Role:

  • Lead development of frontend and backend components for responsive, accessible, and performant applications using modern frameworks.
  • Build RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs that integrate with databases, third-party services, and cloud-native tools.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, code reviews, and product demos with designers, DevOps engineers, and product owners.
  • Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks like Jest, Mocha, Cypress, or Pytest.
  • Ensure UIs comply with Section 508 and WCAG standards using tools like axe-core, pa11y, or manual testing techniques.
  • Adhere to OWASP guidelines, integrate secure coding practices, and support FedRAMP/FISMA compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps engineers to enable continuous integration, automated testing, code scanning, and deployment pipelines.
  • Maintain clear and reusable code documentation, API specs, and contribute to internal knowledge bases.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and help elevate the team's technical maturity.

  • Working knowledge of Git, code versioning strategies, and trunk-based development.
