Amentum is seeking a Utilities Lead Mechanic to work on Andros Island, Bahamas on the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) project. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. The selected candidate will report to the base installation Utilities Manager having direct oversight of all preventive & corrective maintenance for Utilities for the Underwater Target Department on AUTEC. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Required to diagnose and repair a variety of simple to complex problems associated with the repair and maintenance of equipment, as diesel engines, air compressors, pumping systems and other similar equipment.
- Adhere to all safety/environmental regulations as written in any procedure on the project as it pertains to the daily duties of a mechanic.
- Utilize repair manuals, periodical and service bulletins as required to troubleshoot and repair all power plant mechanical equipment.
- Perform daily cleaning of tools and present tools when requested for inspection.
- Assume responsibility of all assigned tools.
- Work hand in hand with fellow power plant personnel on a daily basis to provide the most efficient and cost-effective repair services available.
- Attend all required training classes when represented and scheduled.
- Assumes responsibility for all assigned tools.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ten (10) years related experience working in maintenance and repair of Diesel engines, pumps, air compressors and other types of industrial equipment.
- Two (2) years of technical training in the field of industrial equipment repair.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must possess excellent coordination and organizational skills, oral and written communication skills.
- Works well under pressure of deadlines, capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to pass repair knowledge on to fellow mechanics and coach fellow employee.
- Must have the ability to climb ladders to work on rooftops, climb in and out of utility trenches, bucket truck, and to access confined spaces such as manholes.
- Occasionally lifts/carries/pushes/pulls up to 50 pounds of supplies
- Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.
- Valid driver's license and U.S. passport will be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cat ET Software experience preferred.
- CDL Class A with Hazmat preferred.
