The Concrete & Masonry Specialist, Lead (FN) will be based at one of three Amentum sites in Iraq and will serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position is responsible for providing construction support on small construction, remodeling, and renovation projects. The Concrete & Masonry Specialist Lead will report directly to the Concrete & Masonry Supervisor or Renovation Manager and is responsible for preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and 'duck & cover' during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.

DUTIES:
- Maintain a safe workplace and ensure that safety is the highest priority.
- Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety, and Quality Assurance requirements and provide necessary documentation.
- Repair, maintain, and alter buildings.
- Mix mortar, lay bricks, and install/repair concrete sidewalks.
- Make and repair steps, install and tile floors, and perform carpentry work incidental to masonry.
- Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures.
- Use hand and power tools including floats, trowels, and screeds.
- Direct and operate a concrete truck.
- Spread concrete into inaccessible form sections using rakes or shovels.
- Level concrete to specified depth and consistency; finish surfaces with power trowels, wet rubs, edging tools, jointers, and straightedges.
- Perform specialized work such as finishing steps, stairways, repairing old concrete, or producing decorative/textured finishes.
- Cut, shape, and install tiles in tight corners and around obstacles using power and hand tools.
- Form tile beds with concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar.
- Align and level tiles to ensure accurate patterns.
- Follow blueprints and accurately mark/measure surfaces for tiling.
- Submit detailed project reports on concrete and masonry work to the Supervisor.
- Perform additional duties and projects assigned.
REQUIRED:
- Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
- A minimum of 5 years of supervising experience in the concrete and masonry field is required along with a minimum of 5 years of concrete and masonry experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work in an international environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Team-oriented with proven ability to contribute effectively.
- Ability to innovate and adapt to changing conditions.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Education: A high school diploma or GED.
- Passport, Licenses and Certifications:
- As part of pre-contingency requirements, at the time of applying, candidates must possess a valid passport of home country (or have started the process of obtaining one) with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration date with 8 blank pages.
- Valid drivers' license.
- Requires a State License or Certification from the home state or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Security Vetting: Must maintain clearance eligibility for the duration of the contract. Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT prior to hiring.
- Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
- Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.
DESIRED:
- A certificate from a vocational program is preferred.
- Previous out of home country experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions are a plus.
- Experience working with Amentum.
