SUMMARY: This position is a full-time Exempt (salary) position, supporting the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). The Exercise Planner plans, organizes, coordinates, and promotes warfighter exercises and training requirements for assigned Mission Training Centers (MTC). Assists in the development of training scenarios.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provides exercise planning in support of all six ARNG MTCs. Provides subject matter expert support in all phases of exercise planning and the development and implementation of an effective, reliable, exercise program that will be systematically and periodically updated. Periodically plan joint exercises and meet all requirements in the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) IAW CJCS Guide 3501, The Joint Training System, A Primer for Senior Leaders.

- Provide expert-level exercise planning support to all six ARNG Mission Training Complexes (MTCs), ensuring alignment with government training objectives and timelines.
- Serve as a contractor subject matter expert (SME) in the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC), supporting all phases of exercise design, coordination, execution, and assessment.
- Maintains working relationship with OST/EST, HST, IEWTPT, and all exercise participants to develop and achieve training requirements.
- Develop and maintain a repeatable, scalable exercise program that incorporates feedback, lessons learned, and evolving mission requirements.
- Ensures all Warfighting Functions are included and synchronized throughout the training event.
- Coordinate with military and civilian stakeholders to ensure exercises meet Joint, Army, and ARNG training standards in accordance with CJCS Guide 3501.
- Assist in the planning and execution of joint and multi-component exercises, integrating live, virtual, constructive, and gaming (LVC-G) capabilities as required.
- Prepare and deliver exercise planning documents, briefings, and after-action reports to government leads and senior leadership.
- Support scenario development, training objectives alignment, and exercise control (EXCON) functions to ensure realistic and effective training environments.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual deliverables, timelines, and quality standards as defined by the government customer.
- Collaborate with ARNG to identify training gaps and recommend improvements to exercise design and execution processes.
- Contribute to knowledge transfer and continuity across planning teams.

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least ten (10) years' Military or DoD experience with and at least two (2) years' experience with exercise planning using the JELC process.
- Experienced in large constructive exercises, multi-domain events, and implementation of JLCCTC.
- Ideally former FA57 qualified or have demonstrable experience in operational planning and simulations using JLCCTC stimulating MCIS.
- Graduate of United States Army Command and General Staff College (or equivalent).
- Understanding of the LVCG concepts is preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (subject immaterial) required (Masters degree preferred).
- Graduate of United States Army Senior Service College (or equivalent) preferred.
