NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer to join a growing team. This position will focus on complex applications involving all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysis. Experience in managing the evaluation and cost estimation of voice and data WAN services from telecommunications carriers, designing access and backbone networks using carrier services, or in managing the analysis and design of wireless voice or data networks is required for consideration. The ideal candidate will provide technical and administrative direction for personnel responsible for telecommunications network design, implementation, and operations tasks.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Works under general supervision, developing the requirements of a product from inception to conclusion.
• Develop required specifications for simple to moderately complex applications involving all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysis. Experience in managing the above activities.
• Experience in managing the evaluation and cost estimation of voice and data WAN services from telecommunications carriers, designing access and backbone networks using carrier services, or in managing the analysis and design of wireless voice or data networks (using private radio facilities or commercial services).
• Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel responsible for telecommunications network design, implementation, and operations tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards and progress in accordance with schedules.
• Make recommendations, if needed, for approval of major network installations.
• Prepares milestone status reports, and deliveries/ presentations on network progress to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.
• Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.

Desired/Required Skills:
• Active Department of Defense Secret, Critical Sensitive with a Tier 5/SSBI investigation level clearance.
• 8570/8140: DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level I
• Cisco computing environment certificates such as CCNA, CCNP or CCIE. Equivalent certifications from other vendors are also acceptable.
• Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification a huge plus.
• Sever (7) years’ network operations experience. Higher Level Education or Military service can be used in lieu of two (2) years’ network operations experience.
• Five (5) years’ relevant experience and relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
• Required take applicable DLA and Host Activity site-specific safety training.
• Required to take OSHA compliant Aerial Lift Training prior to the use of Aerial Lifts.
